Are you interested in a career in healthcare? Memorial Pharmacy is seeking applicants for its paid pharmacy technician trainee program—no healthcare experience required. Upon completing this 4-month program, trainees qualify to sit for the technician licensure exam.
Pharmacy technicians at Memorial work at the top of their skill set and are essential to providing patients with safe and effective medication therapy. Upon entering the program, Memorial enrolls trainees into an online education program, while working four days a week (32 hours) for on-the-job training.
The program starts a couple times throughout the year, training up to three applicants at a time. Trainees are exposed to many aspects of pharmacy, with the option of focusing on either an inpatient or ambulatory track. After obtaining pharmacy technician licensure, candidates can apply for a permanent tech position.
The pharmacy profession is quickly advancing, and pharmacy technicians are stepping up to new challenges. This program prepares candidates for a professionally rewarding career with growth opportunities. Memorial’s pharmacy technicians are involved in inpatient medication reconciliation, prescription-refill authorization, outpatient pharmacy, sterile IV compounding, inpatient distribution, billing, prior authorization, purchasing, regulatory compliance, informatics and more.
Candidates must meet the Department of Health (DOH) registration requirements for a pharmacy assistant license, found on the DOH website. The DOH license application does not need to be submitted prior to interviewing at Memorial.
